As you know, our association kicked off a new program, “2.5 in 2” in May of 2008. Our organization will look to add an additional 2.5 million dollars over the next two years into the endowment fund to be specified for the graduates of LHS. With these additional funds, we will be able to offer more $1,000 scholarships to seniors of LHS. But more importantly, we will be able to offer more money to the graduates of LHS. In 2008, there were 55 graduate applicants that applied for an alumni scholarship, but we were only able to award scholarships to 20 of these graduates. Our ultimate goal is to award fifty $2,000 scholarships to graduates and one hundred $1,000 scholarships to seniors. As you can see, our goal of awarding $200,000 in scholarships a year to seniors and graduates is set high, but with your continued support I know we can achieve ultimate success.
